The Department of Arabic Language welcomes students graduating from both the scientific and literary branches of secondary education, regardless of gender or nationality, provided they have achieved a minimum average of 60%.
The department is supported by a qualified teaching faculty composed of male and female professors, most of whom hold advanced academic titles such as Professor and Assistant Professor. They are committed to delivering knowledge to students in the most accessible ways, drawing inspiration from the rich linguistic heritage while keeping pace with developments in the field of linguistic sciences.
The Department of Arabic Language launched its postgraduate (Master’s) programs in both Linguistics and Literature in the academic year 2020–2021. The PhD program in Linguistics was inaugurated in 2024–2025, with the Literature PhD program planned to follow in the subsequent year, God willing.
The department aims to equip students with linguistic literacy, unveil the mysteries of the Arabic language, and explore its unique features. It seeks to raise awareness of the importance of discourse, its comprehension, and analysis. Furthermore, the department contributes to society by cultivating intellectual capacities that enhance creative thinking and develop communication, literary expression, text analysis, and the ability to articulate ideas effectively in real-life situations.
Among the department’s additional objectives is the graduation of male and female students prepared to meet the demands of the job market—especially given the society’s critical need for their specialization—in accordance with their interests, in the following fields:
