The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College of Islamic Sciences – University of Fallujah is considered one of the newly established academic departments, created in accordance with Ministerial Order No. (T.M. 3/7800) dated 28/7/2025. This establishment comes within the framework of the university’s comprehensive strategic plan aimed at developing its academic structure and expanding its study programs in a manner that keeps pace with contemporary requirements and responds to the needs of society.
The department is concerned with grounding the studies of Islamic creed and consolidating its sound concepts, while also giving due attention to the study of Islamic thought in its various schools and trends, both classical and modern, following a rigorous scientific methodology that combines authenticity with contemporaneity. It also seeks to prepare specialized academic cadres capable of analysis and critical evaluation, contributing to the promotion of moderate and balanced thought and addressing contemporary intellectual challenges.
The department aspires to become a distinguished academic beacon in its field through the development of curricula, encouragement of scientific research, and the organization of seminars and academic conferences dedicated to issues of creed and Islamic thought. This, in turn, enhances the standing of the college and the university at both local and regional levels, and contributes to serving society and building a well-grounded scientific awareness.
