Vision – Mission – Objectives
First: Vision of the Department
The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought seeks to highlight the fundamentals of the Islamic religion, deepen a sense of belonging to Islam, and connect Muslims to the authentic sources of Islam. It aims to raise awareness of the moral and civilizational values embedded within these sources, in order to build and fortify individuals in belief, thought, and behavior against intellectual currents that oppose Islam. The department also endeavors to present the comprehensive nature of Islam as an all-encompassing way of life, fundamentally grounded in faith in God, and to move beyond partial perspectives that confine Islam to limited aspects of life.
Second: Mission
The department seeks to instill a pure Islamic creed in individuals and to cultivate constructive critical thinking through: deepening the understanding of pure monotheism free from the impurities of polytheism and misguidance; establishing a methodology of moderation and balance that rejects extremism and radicalism; confronting extremist and terrorist ideologies through evidence and rational argument while exposing their intellectual fallacies; and shaping a conscious contemporary Muslim personality that is aware of its mission, active within society, and open to the world while grounded in firm principles and a civilizational spirit.
Third: Objectives
- To provide students with in-depth knowledge of the authentic foundations of Islamic creed as derived from the recognized primary sources of Islam, foremost among them the Holy Qur’an and the Noble Prophetic Sunnah.
- To deepen students’ correct understanding of Islamic creed and protect them from intellectual and doctrinal deviations.
- To equip students with methodological tools for analyzing Islamic thought, critiquing deviant ideas, and responding to them scientifically.
- To highlight Islam’s tolerance, moderation, and justice, presenting it as a comprehensive way of life that promotes peace and stability for humanity.
- To instill the value of pure monotheism (Tawhid) as the foundation of both inner and outward human actions.
- To reinforce the ethics of moderation, tolerance, and constructive dialogue, and to promote respect for differing opinions within the framework of Islamic guidelines.
- To promote values of national belonging and responsible citizenship, and to combat ideas that threaten societal security and stability.
- To prepare specialized cadres in the field of creed and Islamic thought capable of to God with wisdom and good counsel.
- To prepare qualified teachers of Islamic education to support educational directorates, religious endowments, research centers, and all relevant state institutions.
