Objectives of the Thesis:
This thesis aims to collect the issues judged by Abū Ḥayyān (d. 745 AH) as “not authentic (lā ṣiḥḥ)” in his book al-Tadhyīl wa al-Takmīl, study them grammatically, and compare them with the views of earlier, contemporary, and later grammarians.
Key Findings:
The study reached several conclusions, the most prominent of which is that the issues Abū Ḥayyān judged as “not authentic” in al-Tadhyīl wa al-Takmīl were diverse; at times he held a unique opinion, and at other times he agreed with the views of grammarians who preceded him.
After an extensive discussion by the committee members, the thesis was accepted with the grade of “Pass (Sufficient)”.
