Master’s Thesis Defense on the Jurisprudential Rulings Related to the Al-Aqsa Flood
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Fallujah, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jasim Abd, the public defense of the Master’s thesis by the student Noor Ghanem Mohammed, Department of Sharia – College of Islamic Sciences / University of Fallujah, was held on the morning of Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Her thesis is entitled:
“The Jurisprudential Rulings Related to the Al-Aqsa Flood – A Contemporary Jurisprudential Study.”
The defense took place in the central hall of the College of Islamic Sciences.
The examining committee consisted of the following professors:
- Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Abbas – Chair
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Raheem Alawi – Member
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amjad Murakib Dawood – Member
- Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jasim Abd – Member and Supervisor
Thesis Objectives:
The thesis aims to study contemporary jurisprudential rulings related to the Al-Aqsa Flood, presenting emerging juristic opinions regarding the defense of Arab societies and countries, and the duties of the Arab nation toward this major crisis. It further seeks to derive rulings from their original sources: the Holy Qur’an, the Prophetic Sunnah, the jurisprudence of the four schools, as well as the resolutions of contemporary Islamic jurisprudential councils.
Key Findings:
The thesis concluded with several important results, the most significant of which is the necessity of unifying the jurisprudential vision in facing contemporary challenges and critical issues confronting the Arab nation, particularly the recent ordeals of the Palestinian people.
Following an extensive discussion by the examining committee, the thesis was accepted with the grade of “Pass with Distinction (Sufficient).”
