To become a globally recognized center of excellence in the study, preservation, and dissemination of the noble Prophetic Hadith and its sciences; to promote a deep understanding of the Prophetic tradition among scholars, students, and the wider community in contemporary academic contexts; and to prepare distinguished academic professionals who contribute to the accurate preservation and comprehension of the Sunnah.
Mission:
The Department of Hadith and Its Sciences at the University of Fallujah is dedicated to advancing scholarly research, education, and social engagement in the field of Prophetic Hadith. Our mission is to preserve, analyze, and disseminate the authentic narrations of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), while fostering critical thinking, academic excellence, and ethical leadership among students and researchers. The department’s mission encompasses the following goals:
- To provide students with a comprehensive and precise education in Hadith and its sciences, equipping them with the necessary skills to critically analyze, interpret, and transmit Hadith narrations.
- To promote Hadith-related research that adheres to the rigor of traditional scholarly methods while engaging with contemporary academic discourse.
- To serve the community by offering educational programs and resources that enhance public understanding of the Prophetic Hadith and elevate the status of the Sunnah, thereby contributing to the intellectual and cultural life of Iraq through fostering dialogue and collaboration between Hadith scholars and other disciplines.
- To preserve Iraq’s rich Islamic heritage and reinforce its role in promoting peace and mutual understanding within Iraqi society.
- To graduate students capable of fostering a balanced and enlightened cultural outlook that actively contributes to sustainable development.
Objectives:
I. Enhancing Education and Learning:
- Deliver high-quality academic and training programs that provide students with in-depth knowledge of Hadith sciences, critical analytical skills, and a precise understanding of Islamic heritage.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity, ethical values, and a lifelong commitment to learning among both students and faculty.
- Employ innovative teaching methods that facilitate a comprehensive and profound understanding of the Prophetic Sunnah.
II. Promoting Scientific Research:
- Support research and academic studies in the field of Hadith sciences.
- Publish scholarly articles and research papers in peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Organize scientific conferences and seminars to promote academic dialogue and collaboration.
- Undertake the verification and publication of classical Hadith manuscripts and books.
III. Community Service:
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to enhance understanding, reverence, and practical application of Prophetic teachings in daily life.
- Organize outreach activities, seminars, and workshops aimed at addressing contemporary social challenges through the lens of the Sunnah, and at fostering dialogue and reconciliation within diverse communities.
