A Master’s Thesis on the Abrogatives (al-Nawāsikh) in the Book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn
Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Fallujah, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and under the supervision and follow-up of the respected Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jassim Abdul, the public defense of the master's thesis submitted by the student Saad Mohammed Ahmed, from the Department of Arabic Language – College of Islamic Sciences / University of Fallujah, was held this morning, Monday, July 21, 2025.
The thesis is entitled: "The Abrogatives (al-Nawāsikh) in the Book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn – A Syntactic Study", and the defense took place in the main hall of the College of Islamic Sciences.
The examination committee consisted of the following esteemed professors:
- Prof. Dr. Abdulrazzaq Ali Hussein – Chair
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Hadeel Raad Tahseen – Member
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Saad Sabbar Abdulbaqi – Member
- Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Suleiman Alawi – Member and Supervisor
Objectives of the Thesis:
This study aims to identify and analyze the various types of abrogative particles (al-nawāsikh) in the Arabic language as found in the book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn, and to examine them from a syntactic perspective.
Key Findings:
The study concluded with several important findings, the most significant of which is that the abrogatives in the Arabic language appear prominently in Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn, playing a significant role in shaping the values, principles, and foundations conveyed by the Prophetic traditions contained in the book.
Following an extensive discussion by the examination committee, the thesis was accepted with a grade of "Pass".
