Under God's blessing, on Tuesday, 2/13/2024, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held a seminar titled (The Spread of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Prevention Methods). The speakers included Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulrazzaq Jassim Mahmoud (Head of the Psychological Counseling Division), Colonel Atheer Nasser Madi (Head of the Southern Province Narcotics Division), and Researcher Omar Ismail Hweidi (Community Police Division). The seminar was moderated by Lecturer Ashwaq Talib Kassar (Head of the Counseling Unit in our college). The seminar highlighted various aspects, including the causes of this phenomenon, its types, psychological and social dimensions, and prevention methods. While recent years have brought progress and prosperity to humanity due to scientific and technological advancements, they have also contributed to the spread of dangerous habits and behaviors, such as drug and psychotropic substance abuse and addiction. The harmful effects do not stop at the individual but extend to the family and society. We pray to God Almighty to protect our country and all Muslim nations from all harm.
