Key Findings:
The dissertation reached several conclusions, the most important of which is that Al-Zarkashi was, in most cases, precise and faithful in transmitting the views of the Ash‘arites. His attributions generally conform to what is found in their primary sources, making Al-Bahr al-Muhit a reliable reference for representing the Ash‘arite school in the field of Usul al-Fiqh.
After an extensive discussion of the dissertation by the committee members, the dissertation was accepted with a grade of “Pass with Distinction.”
