Master’s Thesis Defense on Grammatical Transitions in the Book ʿUqūd al-Zabarjad
Under the patronage of University of Fallujah President Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jasim Abd, the public defense of the Master’s thesis by the student (Rehab Jasim Mohammed), Department of Arabic Language – College of Islamic Sciences / University of Fallujah, was held on the morning of Tuesday, 24/2/2026, in the Central Hall of the College of Islamic Sciences.
The thesis, entitled:
“Grammatical Transitions (al-Fanqalāt al-Naḥwiyyah) in the Book ʿUqūd al-Zabarjad ʿalā Musnad al-Imām Aḥmad by al-Suyūṭī (d. 911 AH) – A Linguistic Study,” examines the grammatical hypothetical issues referred to by modern scholars as fanqalāt in the book ʿUqūd al-Zabarjad on the Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal by Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti.

Objectives of the Thesis:
The thesis aims to compile the hypothetical grammatical issues termed by contemporary scholars as fanqalāt in ʿUqūd al-Zabarjad and to examine them through a systematic grammatical analysis.
Key Findings:
The study concluded that ʿUqūd al-Zabarjad on the Musnad of Imam Ahmad contains a considerable number of grammatical issues categorized under hypothetical fanqalah, in addition to the diversity of these grammatical discussions.
After extensive deliberation by the examination committee, the thesis was approved with the grade Pass.
