Master’s Thesis Defense on the Narrative Structure
Under the patronage of University of Fallujah President Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jasim Abd, the public defense of the Master’s thesis submitted by the student Amal Juma Abd from the Department of Arabic Language – College of Islamic Sciences / University of Fallujah was held on the morning of Thursday, 26/2/2026, in the Central Hall of the College of Islamic Sciences.
The thesis, entitled “The Narrative Structure in the Short Story Works of Nasra Al-Zubaidi”, examined the narrative construction in the author’s short stories and novels.
The examination committee consisted of the following professors:
- Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ali Ibrahim – Chair
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Harith Yassin Shukr – Member
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Marwa Fadhil Hamad – Member
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Saadi Ismail – Member and Supervisor
Thesis Objectives:
The thesis aimed to study the narrative structure in the short story works of Dr. Nasra Al-Zubaidi, analyze the narrative construction in her stories and novels, and explore the themes, narrative elements, and artistic techniques she employed.
Key Findings:
The study concluded with several findings, most notably the diversity of themes and ideas addressed by Dr. Nasra Al-Zubaidi in her short fiction, as well as the variety of characters, temporal settings, spatial dimensions, and the nature of events presented in her works.
Following an extensive discussion by the examination committee, the thesis was approved with the grade “Pass.”
